Common questions
How do I add a script?
From the Scripts screen, tap Add Scripts. Paste text directly or import a text-based PDF. Image-only or scanned PDFs may not contain readable text.
What is the difference between Automatic and Voice Follow?
Automatic advances the script continuously at the speed you select. Voice Follow uses supported on-device speech recognition to adjust the prompt as you speak. If on-device recognition is unavailable, continue with Automatic.
Why isn’t Voice Follow responding?
Confirm that Speech Recognition and Microphone permissions are enabled for Ruby on Cue in iPhone Settings. Check that the intended microphone is connected before beginning. Some Bluetooth routing configurations may behave differently from the built-in or USB microphone; include the microphone model in your report.
Where are scripts and takes stored?
They are stored locally within Ruby on Cue on your device. Deleting the app may delete its locally stored data, so export any take you want to keep before removing the app.
How do I save a take to Photos?
Open the finished take and choose the export-to-Photos option. If export is unavailable, confirm that Photos permission is enabled for Ruby on Cue.
Why does my phone feel warm?
Extended camera preview, video encoding, screen use, and recording can warm an iPhone. Note the duration, screen brightness, whether the phone was charging or in a case, and whether iOS dimmed the display or showed a temperature warning.
Permissions
Ruby on Cue may request access to Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Photos. These permissions support recording, Voice Follow, and user-requested export. You can review them under Settings → Privacy & Security on your iPhone.
Safety of your recordings
Before deleting Ruby on Cue, resetting the phone, or replacing the device, export any take you need to retain. Support cannot recover recordings that existed only inside a deleted local installation.
